'Choice's' Casting and Crew

Tony Cash is going to be the Director and the Director of Photography for the film. He will in charge of the cinematography of the film. Tony will mainly be focusing on lighting, framing and composition. He will be helping me with the shots and the type of shots that we use. In post production. Tony will be helping me edit the film. If there is anything in the back ground of the shots that needs digitally removing then Tony will do that. He will also be doing some of the sound mixing and adding some of the effects in.

Charlie will be acting as 1st Assistant Director. Although Charlie won't be operating the cameras he will still be helping to frame the shots and checking the lighting. Charlie will be playing the Character of Eric Mathews and he will be acting in all of the scenes so Charlie wont be behind the camera very much. Charlie will be the assistant editor as it is his film idea so he will be able to tell me the way he wants his film to look.

I will be acting as camera operator and equipment manager throughout production. I will be focusing on camera use and will be handling the Camera Jib, Camera Slider and the JVC Camera. I will be the editor of the film. I will be collecting all of the shots that we have edited and I will be editing it together. I will also be doing most of the sound editing and adding most of the effects as well.

Ashley will be playing the part of Eric's Friend and we have done this because Charlie and Ashley look quite similar and that was needed because the character the Ashley will be playing is supposed to be Eric's subconscious mind.

'Choice' - Script

This is the 9th Draft of the script, it took 9 drafts to make the script as good as possible because we had to keep changing the ideas because we discovered things that we could and couldn't do. The pictures below shot the following corrections we had in each draft:

  Equipment list

·      JVC 3CCD

o   This is a camera that we have borrowed from our college and this is a good camera because it has high quality video and audio recording. We will be using it in fully manual mode so we can have the most freedom to do what we want.

·      Camera Stabilizer

o   The camera stabilizer will be used for walking training shots and this means that we can walk with the camera and have smooth footage and the footage not to be too shaky.

·      Camera Dolly

o   This will be used for the tracking shots. It will mean that we can get smooth tracking shots over a smooth floor.

·      4x Tripods

o   These will be will be uses for the camera so we don’t have the hold the cameras by hand. This will mean that we get completely stable shots.

·      2x Rode Boom pole

o   We will be using these in dialogue scenes and this will mean that we get clear audio for the characters when they are having a conversation.

·      2x LED Lights

o   These lights will be used for highlights on the actor’s faces and for the background. This will be 2 parts of the 3-point lighting.

·      2 x 5in1 lighting reflectors/diffusers/flags

o   These will be used to control the lighting that we have. Either inside with the fill light to diffuse it out or the sunlight outside to make sure it isn’t too bright and causes over-exposure on the camera.

Eric Matthews

Eric Matthews was born on October 20^th 1996 to a Samantha and Paul Matthews. As a baby Eric constantly needed fuss and attention and would constantly be the start of arguments for his parents.

 

Samantha always wanted a girl and has never let Eric live it down, she blames his fathers ‘Inferior’ genes and that she ‘should’ve married that Oakland lad from college’. Eric father Paul saw straight through her passive aggressive attitude for some time.  Eventually he spent more time at his local pub than with his wife, much to her detest.

 

During his early childhood Eric was in the forefront of this conflict constantly trying to impress his mother and ending up questioning her actions to her father. Paul loved Eric more than anything in the world, He knew he wasn’t perfect but he always blamed the war and his wife for his actions.

 

Eric was 13 years old when Paul first hit him. It was a drunken mistake he professed, however Samantha fault different. This event would shake the Matthews household for some time. Everything Eric believed started to get manipulated, Paul became more aggressive and he would always tell Eric it was his mother’s fault.

 

Eric began projecting his worries in the form on an imaginary friend who he never named. In psychology reports Eric said that the friend always shown him the answer and that he hasn’t been wrong since. His mother thought he was crazy and his father took no notice.

 

When Eric was 17 his parents were in the midst of a divorce, it was then that Paul Matthews struck Samantha and put her in the hospital. After doing so he ran away from the consequences leaving Eric with a choice of what to do and who to go to.
